The Company
The General and Industrial Leathers (P) Ltd, (GIL) continues to build upon
and enhance its traditions since its inception in 1949. The goal of the company is to
process a by-product of the human food chain, bovine hides, into a beautiful material of
daily use; finished leather using sustainable, creative, and cost-effective manufacturing
processes.
We have achieved certification with Gold Rating by The Leather Working Group (LWG).
Our specific strengths are:
- Production of small lots of about 1000 square feet
- Specific research and development capability.
- Fast turnaround times (concept to production in days or weeks)
GIL’s benchmark is to provide customers with finished leathers meeting the highest degrees
of fashion,functionality, safety and durability, while conforming to sound business ethics,
sustainable manufacturing practices, the welfare of personnel involved and care of planet
